Is the photo the actual card I'll receive?
For graded slabs and anything over about $50, yes — it's that exact copy. For cheaper singles we sometimes use a representative photo of that printing, because we might hold eight identical Lightning Bolts. The condition on the listing is always assessed on the specific copy that ships. If you want photos of the actual card before you buy, ask and we'll send them the same day.
What does your condition grading actually mean?
We use the published five-tier TCGplayer standard — NM through DMG — with the stricter bar on foils. It's all spelled out on the condition and grading guide, including how we handle vintage.
How much is shipping?
$5.99 flat within the US, free over $75.00. Singles ship in a sleeve and toploader inside a rigid mailer; slabs are bubble-wrapped and double-boxed. We ship the same day on weekday orders placed before 3pm.
Can I pick up in store instead?
Yes, and it's free. Choose “Pick up in store” in the cart and you'll pay securely through Stripe, get an order reference, and receive the shop's pickup instructions by email.
Something arrived worse than described. Now what?
Email hello@sleevedandslabbed.examplewith a photo within 14 days and we'll refund it, including the return postage. We'd rather eat the cost of a grading mistake than argue about one — it's the only way a published condition standard means anything.
How do your buy prices compare to selling online myself?
Honestly? For a single high-value card, listing it yourself will usually net more, and we'll tell you so. Where we win is volume and hassle: a shoebox of mixed cards becomes one number and one trip, instead of forty listings and forty envelopes. Store credit closes most of the gap — it's worth about 30% more than our cash offer.
Do I need to register for events, or can I just turn up?
Capped events — drafts, prereleases — fill up, so register on the calendar. League nights and casual Commander are uncapped; walk in whenever. If an event is showing as full, come anyway: we keep a standby list at the counter and people drop out more often than you'd expect.
I've never played. Is that going to be awkward?
It isn't, and if it ever is, tell us and we'll fix it. We run Learn to Play nights where nobody knows the rules yet, decks are provided, and it's free. We also keep loaner decks behind the counter for any casual night.
Do you take trade-ins toward a purchase?
Yes — trading in against something in the case is the best rate we offer, since it's store credit applied immediately. Bring the cards and whatever you're eyeing up and we'll work it out at the counter.
Can you get a card that isn't listed?
