Reports and period close
Reports summarize source events and the ledger. Period close is the control that says a month has been reviewed and should no longer change casually.
An authorized account is required to use this workspace.
Core reports
- Profit & Loss explains revenue, COGS, gross margin, and expenses.
- Balance Sheet shows assets, liabilities, and equity at a date.
- Cash Flow groups cash movement by operating, investing, and financing activity.
- Trial Balance proves total debits equal total credits.
- General Ledger provides account-by-account source detail.
- Inventory, AP, tax, payroll, reconciliation, and register reports tie specialist workflows to the books.
Cash basis and accrual basis
Accrual reporting recognizes activity when earned or incurred. Cash-basis views focus on when money changes hands. They are two views of the same controlled source history, not two separate ledgers.
Exports and budgets
Use CSV for analysis and accountant import, and PDF for a fixed review copy. Monthly budgets support budget-versus-actual and short-term planning; they do not authorize spending.
Close a period
- 1
Finish source reconciliation
Clear posting recovery, reconcile bank and cash, review AP, payroll, tax, inventory, and Stripe clearing.
- 2
Run integrity checks
Trial balance must equal zero, assets must equal liabilities plus equity, and specialist totals should tie to their sources.
- 3
Review reports with the accountant
Resolve unexpected balances before locking the month.
- 4
Close with MFA
The close prevents new postings into the period and records the actor and time.
Reopen a period
Reopening requires owner or accountant authority, a specific reason, current MFA, and an audit event. Make the correction, repeat the affected reconciliation, and close again.
Still unsure?
Pause before posting, approving, refunding, or moving money. Ask the owner or the role responsible for that workflow to review the source record with you.
