Tax center

The Tax Center is a tracking and reconciliation workspace. It does not prepare the business income-tax return.

What belongs here

  • Michigan registrations and user-confirmed filing deadlines.
  • Stripe Tax liability evidence for online and in-person sales.
  • Check payroll filing and payment mirrors.
  • Purchase use-tax accruals from expense review.
  • Filing confirmations, notices, responses, and accountant-ready annual evidence.

Review a tax period

  1. 1

    Confirm registrations and frequency

Use the current Michigan account status and filing cadence supplied by the state or accountant.

  2. 2

    Tie source totals

Reconcile Stripe sales-tax detail, standalone POS tax transactions, reversals, and purchase use tax to the ledger liability.

  3. 3

    Record the real filing result

Attach or reference confirmation, payment, notice, or exception details after the provider or state acknowledges them.

  4. 4

    Retain the evidence

Keep the filing and reconciliation package with the period records.

What the Tax Center does not do

It does not invent tax treatment, override provider calculations, or prepare federal or Michigan business income-tax returns. Questions about an uncertain product tax code, owner compensation, estimated income tax, or return position belong with the accountant.

Still unsure?

Pause before posting, approving, refunding, or moving money. Ask the owner or the role responsible for that workflow to review the source record with you.

This guide explains software workflows only. It is not legal, tax, accounting, payroll, employment, or security advice. Requirements and provider availability can change; confirm current obligations with the relevant agency and qualified professionals.
