Team, scheduling, and approvals
Team is the manager workspace for workforce operations. Sensitive compensation and payroll readiness remain restricted even when a manager can approve time.
An authorized account is required to use this workspace.
People and jobs
A team member can be an employee or contractor and can have effective-dated job assignments. Employment status changes require a reason and preserve prior history.
Invite and configure a person
- 1
Create or invite the person
Use the correct worker type, email, start date, and access role. Only the owner can create or materially change access grants.
- 2
Add an effective job
Assign the title, classification, location, and start date that apply to the work.
- 3
Complete sensitive setup
Authorized payroll roles add compensation, pay components, leave rules, and provider onboarding status without storing full SSNs or bank details locally.
Publish assigned shifts
- 1
Review availability
Use the employee’s submitted weekly windows and unavailable dates.
- 2
Create the assigned shift
Select the member, effective job, local date, start/end time, and break expectations.
- 3
Publish
Published shifts appear in Workforce and trigger the configured notification.
Current scheduling scope
Scheduling supports assigned published shifts and availability checks. It is not a drag-and-drop open-shift marketplace.
Approve time and leave
- Review exceptions and the original clock-event history.
- An approved correction appends replacement history and reopens the timecard when required.
- Confirm breaks, overtime context, and workweek boundaries before approval.
- Apply the effective-dated leave policy and available balance to leave decisions.
- Approved timecards can be locked to a payroll preparation and should not be altered outside correction workflow.
Compensation, pay components, and policies
Hourly/salary rates, overtime classification, bonuses, commissions, benefits, deductions, garnishments, and leave rules are effective-dated. Add a new version when terms change; do not rewrite the terms that supported a past payroll.
I-9 status
I-9 verification and document handling occur outside this application. Follow your organization’s authorized employment-eligibility process.
Still unsure?
Pause before posting, approving, refunding, or moving money. Ask the owner or the role responsible for that workflow to review the source record with you.
